Forte Prenstino is getting ready
Few days to go.
We are fixing everything in Forte, spaces, food, screens, labs.
As much as possible.
But we always have to keep in mind that is impossible to stop
the stream of realities that crosses this place every instant.

4 Days to Go
So I thought with 4 days to go we really ought to start blogging about Transmission. There's quite a lot of organisations coming but many who aren't and the information/organising that comes out will hopefully be relevant to a whole range of projects.
It's hard to tell at this stage exactly what is going to come out of the meeting. The main aim from my persepctive is to facilitate a lot more cooperation and collaboration, mostly on the technical side of things but also on the political/philosophical side. Both are a basis upon with we can work more closely together. The political really comes first however as the gathering isn't about online video in a vacuum, it's about online video in the context of social movements. Most of the organisations already share that commonality though there is a pretty wide range of groups ranging from well funded NGOs to grassroots volunteers.
The ability to cooperate on the technical side of things hopefully facilitates the avoiding getting too hung up on particular politics (not that this isn't often important). I guess you don't have to agree with everything someone says to be able to share code. The commonality of being into free software should bridge alot of those divides.
On the practical side of things it's probably time to get back to making up the beds and doing some cleaning so everything is spic and span on Tuesday when everyone rolls in to Rome.
